Jean Portante, poet, Guy Helminger, poet and novelist, and Tullio Forgiarini, novelist, are 3 Luxembourgish authors who write in 3 languages (respectively, French, German and Italian), demonstrating the linguistic and social plurality of Luxembourg, whose immigrant population is around 46 to 50%. This healthy coexistence of multiple cultures and languages is an example of integration in times of extremism and exclusion of the other.
The 3 authors will present “A Tristeza Cósmica” (Jean Portante), “Ruído”, Guy Helminger, and “Amok”, Tullio Forgiarini, in conversation with the translators, respectively, Regina Guimarães, Rui Mesquita and Maria Bochicchio, moderated by Fátima Vieira, Vice-Rector of the Universidade do Porto for Culture and Museums.
